Keeping up with Jonesy!

March 17th, 2004: St. Patrick’s Day. It was on this day that Jonesy played their first show together as a band. Once the first note was played, the band and the crowd both knew that something special was taking place. This was no ordinary band. From that first show to every single one since, one thing has remained constant: Jonesy are not just a part of the party… they ARE the party.

“Jonesy” is made up of 5 unique personalities from the Niagara Region. Each member has been involved with various musical projects throughout their lives, some starting at a very young age. The name “Jonesy” was guitarist Paul Lalama’s idea, respectively. No one really knows the true meaning of the name. Paul himself might not even know!

…and these boys have CRED. Scott Neilson, the powerhouse singer who many have compared to U2’s Bono, has shared the stage with big-name acts like Bryan Adams!! What does Jonesy sound like?? Take “The Killers”, throw in a dash of Coldplay, and top it off with a mix of U2 and Franz Ferdinand and you get the idea. “JONESY”, in a relatively short time, has already become a “buzz” word across Ontario. 2004 proved to be an amazing first year, and 2005 even better- as the band played it’s biggest gig yet- rocking for 50,000 people on New Years Eve in Niagara Falls.

Individual Jonesy members have won many radio station home-grown contests including Mix.99.9 and 97.7 htz fm. Keep your ears and eyes on these boys. They have already worked with some of the industries best- including David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Sublime), Arnold Lanni (Simple Plan, Our Lady Peace), and David Tyson (Celine Dion, Alanah Myles), who co-wrote and produced Jonesy’s “Undone”. The future looks very bright for Jonesy.
